About Our Physiotherapy Services
Physiotherapy encompasses many different areas of assessment and treatment. It is for all ages and all levels of fitness or activity. We have one over-riding goal of improving your quality of life, whether that involves decreasing your pain, improving your function, or helping you recover from surgery.
Some of our areas of expertise include:
Manual Therapy – including mobilization of joints and release of tight soft tissues through massage or Dry Needling
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation – including Total Hip, Shoulder or Knee Replacements; ACL or Rotator Cuff repairs
Chronic pain – often requires a different treatment approach involving careful assessment of both short term and long-term issues, and overall function
Vertigo and Dizziness – including BPPV and balance issues, with all issues requiring specific assessment prior to treatment
Headaches – many headaches can be eliminated through manual treatment and postural correction
Exercise Prescription – for restoration of lost function, improved sporting performance, or improved general well-being
Hydrotherapy – can be organized on a case-by-case basis in a local heated pool to assist with chronic, irritable conditions
Orthotic Prescription – semi-custom shoe inserts can be especially helpful for those suffering from foot and ankle complaints, but also can be vital in eliminating long-term hip, knee or back issues.
Pelvic floor retraining – to address men’s and women’s health issues, pregnancy-related pain or dysfunction
Synthetic casting – fiberglass casting of fractures with water-resistant lining
Dry Needling – Dry Needling is a natural extension of hands-on therapy. It is performed as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. The treatment uses a thin, sterile, solid filament needle inserted into the skin to either stimulate inactive muscles or release muscle trigger points. Dry needling is based on Western Medicine's scientific, tested practices to restore normal muscle function.
